This is for all my friends who live at a distance, in someplace warm, or sunny, or foreign, all who said, “Gee, it must be nice to have snow!”

Note the bird feeder to the right center of the photo. Yes, that is what a foot of snow looks like when piled on a bird feeder.
The saving grace was that just after the storm ended, three young men with strong backs came along and offered to shovel. It was worth every penny to watch them dig us out in, oh, 15 minutes? John and I would have spent several hours doing the same. Think of all the knitting time I saved by having those nice young men come along!
